DESCRIPTION
This module provides students with an opportunity to critically consider and evaluate the protection provided by the European Convention on Human Rights and its institutions and to consider its impact in setting human rights norms. - To consider and critically analyse and evaluate the institutions and framework provided by the European Convention on Human Rights for the protection of human rights within the Council of Europe taking into account historical and political perspectives; (A4) - To consider the influence of the European Convention on Human Rights on domestic law; - To explore relevant philosophical, political, social, cultural, moral and economic issues underlying the concept of human rights; - To examine in depth and critically analyse and evaluate the law relating to the European Convention on Human Rights;
