DESCRIPTION
The unit explores the growth of tourism, leisure and hospitality as a dynamic driver of post-industrial economies, looking at models from around the world. It also seeks to understand how different environments such as city centres, heritage cities, seaside resorts, national parks and other rural honeypots are using tourism and leisure as part of their economic development strategies. The unit also considers the governance arrangements that underpins modern economic development programmes and some o the tools used to measure their success.
