DESCRIPTION
This module will provide students with an introduction to the key issues and current debates in historical methodology. It will enable students to identify and critically assess different forms of history writing, ranging from the Whig and Marxist schools of history, to the writing of feminist, women's and gender history. The module will also introduce students to the wide range of sources available to them as historians and allow them to make use of and evaluate such historical sources, such as, archival material, oral history, the internet and historical databases.
