DESCRIPTION

This course helps students contribute to the region's social and economic development by analyzing and understanding the issue of poverty in Latin America, by investigating and encouraging better decisions that would allow reaching the yearned development level that has been out of reach thus far. Through class discussions, round tables, and presenting case studies, students acquire communication and critical analysis skills, stressing the ability to substantiate their ideas, thereby providing a conceptual foundation and objective and innovative support. This training is vital for the students' subsequent professional development, being that a common trait throughout Latin America is the low development levels, when compared to the rest world, particularly because its greatest historical and moral debt consists of millions of poor, making it the region with the highest disparity in the world. Thus, this course helps students to promote sustainable human development in the region.
