DESCRIPTION
The course offers a space to critically assess the significance, influence and impact of Latin American cultural identity in the human and democratic development of the region. The aim is to promote comprehensive development of our societies respecting and promoting the cultural diversity that characterizes the region. With the guidance of the teacher, students develop argumentative and critical skills through weekly group discussions that analyze and criticize various arguments about the value and impact of the different legacies and cultural identities of the region. Additionally, students implement their creative ability to communicate academic arguments creating multimedia projects, using modern communication technologies and connecting them to the fundamental issues of socio political development of the region. Students also conduct research that allows them to deepen their scientific curiosity by developing a critical reading about Latin American cultural identity, and also linking it to the most prominent theories of development, trying to find the strength to overcome the current conditions of the region key. This course allows students to understand how the origins, evolution and present the cultural heritage and cultural identities of Latin American mark in profound ways the current state of our development, being the basis of any analysis and proposals for future improvement of the general well-being.
