DESCRIPTION

This introductory course provides an overview of ways in which race, class, and gender shape the identities and experiences of individuals, as well as social institutions. Students will become familiar with key sociological concepts of inequality, power, oppression and social justice. Students will also examine how race, class, gender and other forms of social difference intersect and how it affects different people on individual as well as structural level.
