DESCRIPTION
This seminar course seeks to help students gain a basic understanding of the evolution of the United States-United Kingdom Special Relationship. Both the details and asymmetric nature of the relations between the two states will be discussed. Students will learn about the history, progress, and prospects of the ?special relationship?, as well as the main actors involved. Throughout the course, the relationship will be tackled within the context both of UK-European and US-European relations. Both high politics and socioeconomic/cultural factors will be emphasized. The course is introductory in nature and the readings reflect this fact.
