DESCRIPTION

This course explores the French civilization and mentality throughout its history taking into consideration geography and culture. Some of the topics include: media, folklore, everyday living, immigration, social problems, gender issues, education and the regional differences found within France. Students will acquire a wide overview of the history of contemporary France as well as a panorama of the great debates currently of interest to French society.
