DESCRIPTION

Students will be introduced to the concepts of both drug delivery and pro-drugs. Emphasis will be placed on novel methods in prodrug design and advanced chemical delivery concepts involving site- and/or organ-specific drug delivery (brain-, eye-, dermal-, lung-specific/enhanced delivery),liposomes and antibodies. Special topics relating to modern drug development will also be covered with emphasis on drug design, clinical trials and final marketing using specific drug examples from the last 15 years.
