DESCRIPTION

This course provides an overview of Spanish literature. It ranges from medieval to contemporary literature. The aim is for students to learn about different literary movements through general concepts that are analyzed from readings throughout the course. Concepts that appear in this literature course are not only Spanish, but universal such as childhood, life, love, death, women, etc. Therefore, the study of the course is not in chronological order but from different literary periods. This course is planned as an introduction to the major movements, authors, texts and genres of literary productions in Spain. The course focuses on the social, historical and psychological analysis of Spanish society, as seen from literature. The goal is to do a review of fragments of the representative works of Spanish literature through the study of the genre used in different periods: lyric, narrative and drama.
