DESCRIPTION

This is an introductory course on money, banking, and the financial markets. The course will focus on financial instruments and interest rate determination; the structure and operations of banks and financial institutions; the operations, tools, and policies of central banks; and money and inflation. It will also discuss and draw important lessons from the financial crisis of 2008-2012.
