DESCRIPTION
The students will learn how to design processes and complete design calculations by hand and using appropriate computer packages. They will also learn the methods of design of heat exchangers.
They will have practical workshop on process simulation using HYSYS.
The principles of project costing, project management and quality management will be introduced. The roles of professional engineers will be reviewed and students will progress their professional development planning.
A couple of visits to chemical plants will be arranged to give the students an idea of how they work.
