Ireland used to be a part of the United Kingdom, there are many things that they still have from their seven hundred years as part of the UK. One of them is driving on the left side of the road. It took me about two weeks to learn how to correctly cross the street here with the unspoken rules of jaywalking, stop signs, and interactions between cars and pedestrians.
