Ahoj, Praha

After a 7 hour plane ride, followed by a 2 hour plane ride, I managed to get zero sleep. However, as soon as the plane went through the clouds my face lit up with pure joy and excitement. Looking over the city of Prague was truly magical and as soon as I stepped off the plane I was no longer tired, but overtired. I've always dreamed of studying abroad and now that it's finally here I can't help but believe this is all a dream.

 View from the apartment.

I decided to travel here alone in order to have the best experience possible. I love meeting new people and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to do so. One of my roommates also goes to the University of Arizona but we had never met before. It's only the third day and I feel like I've known her for years.

When we landed in Prague another girl on our trip lost her passport. How, you may ask? I really couldn't tell you. It held us back with getting to our apartments but in all honesty I felt awful for her. Who knows where she is now. Hopefully she's in Prague (I'll keep you updated).

The ride to our apartment was glorious. The entire atmosphere in Prague is so different from America. Every street curves and, let me tell you, Czech is very hard to grasp. It'll work out, though.

Once we arrived in Prague 5, I knew I'd love it here. The view from outside our room is to be beyond believable. While our apartment is a little small, the five of us are getting along great and that's truly all that matters. On the other hand, these next couple of weeks are going to be very hot and there's no air conditioning anywhere. Big change for us Americans.
 Our room, not too shabby

Today one of my roommates and I tried to walk to Anglo-American University, where we'll be studying for the next three months, to go on a city tour. We got completely lost and ended up finding it after an hour; it's a 15 minute walk. But hey, I did see the John Lennon wall. To say that adventure was stressful is an understatement; I'm surprised I didn't break out in tears. However, it all worked out and it is only the third day; I need to cut myself some slack.

I am so excited to see what the rest of this semester has in store and I'll be able to find my away around soon enough. Everyone adjusts at their own speed and in many different ways so it's really not worth it to be down. Once I learn more Czech the locals should be more perceptive, pray for me.

Until next time.
