The Grass Is Actually Greener In Dublin

Hi guys! As of next week, I will officially have been living in Dublin for two months. In some ways, it feels like I've just arrived here and there is still so much to do; in other ways I feel like a local with favorite spots to hang out, an amazing group of friends, and a routine. The beautiful places you see on your walk to school begin to leave a  wow-factor, but they are a part of your cultural experience that you won't want to forget. This post is a little reminder that the things that you pass every day are amazing, and that sometimes the grass is actually a little bit greener on the other side.

The Ha'penney Bridge is certainly one of the most famous bridges in Dublin.

The Ha'penney Bridge is the first big landmark I pass on my way to school. It's made of cast-iron that is painted white, and was built in 1816. It's beautiful no matter what time of day you cross it, and drops us right off at our next stop...

The Temple Bar is a truly iconic pub here in Dublin. People of all ages have a blast here!

A few steps away from the the Ha'penney Bridge will put The Temple Bar in your sights! An iconic bar that always draws a crowd, this spot is a fun place to grab a pint. There is often live music playing here, and traditional Irish singers make the place lively!

Grafton Street houses some of Dublin's nicest shops.

I also have an internship here in Dublin, and I walk a bit more each day and get to see even more of what this fun city has to offer. On my way to work, I walk up Grafton Street, one of Dublin's busiest and most exciting streets during the day. There are so many fun shops and department stores, and they all have fun window displays as the seasons change and different holidays approach.

Life in Dublin is a walk in the park.

The next iconic place that just happens to be a part of my daily stroll through town is St. Stephen's Green. I would describe it as the Central Park of Dublin, but without the crowds. Beautiful, serene, and filled with plenty of birds and ponds, I always breathe a little easier when I pass through this park on my walk to work.

Colorful Doors Everywhere

The beautiful, vibrant doors you see above are another fun little Dublin thing that makes my study abroad city unique. The street I work on is lined with different colored doors for different businesses. It's so cheerful to see yellow, green, magenta, and even lavender doors on a daily basis.

Even just the little things you see on your typical walk through your study abroad city can hold so much simple beauty. Take time to absorb the small details, take pictures of everything so you don't forget what your life abroad looked like, and don't forget to reflect on how sweet life is when you're on such a grand adventure, even when you're just walking to class.
