Welcome to My Local Neighborhood While Studying Abroad, Prague 2!

Let me take you on a journey through the place I proudly call home while studying abroad in Prague: Prague 2. It's not just a neighborhood; it's a friend who's always there for you, ready to make every day an adventure.

Photo of I.P. Pavlova tram stop.

I will begin by getting off at the I.P. Pavlova tram stop, which I consider to be the beginning of my neighborhood. Near the stop, there is this market that is seasonal, and it sells fruits, clothes, books, baskets, accessories, etc. It is a place where many of the residents of Prague 2 go and do some shopping. I have bought delicious strawberries from here!

My local neighborhood has two tram stops. This one is Bruselská, and the main trams pass by this stop and can take you almost anywhere. This is the stop I take to my internship and the CEA CAPA study center.

I step out of my door, and there are two tram stops right there, cute cafes, quirky boutiques, all within my reach. Do I need groceries? No problem. I want a quick bite? Easy peasy. It's like having a whole city at my doorstep.

Near this market is a beautiful park with great seats. Now that the weather has become warmer, many individuals sit and enjoy the sun here. These tulips have begun to bloom, and it’s an even bigger incentive to go to this park. It’s a really safe and calm environment to talk to some friends!

I love flowers, and there is a sweet florist who owns this beautiful flower shop and sells roses, plants, and flowers for a great deal. She always puts so much detail into wrapping them. If you are near the area, treat yourself to some flowers.

But what really makes Prague 2 special is not just the convenience—it's the atmosphere, a combination of relaxation and positivity that is infectious.

Rose Latte is one of my favorite cafes in the neighborhood. It is very cute and cozy. They offer free Wi-Fi, so it is great to also get some work done. My favorite drink in this cafe is the matcha latte.

Whether I'm hanging out with friends in a café or taking a peaceful walk in one of the nearby parks, there's always something new to discover and enjoy.

Near the tram stop Bruselská is Arte Bianca, an Italian store that has desserts, pizza, drinks, etc. It’s perfect to grab something quick while you wait for the tram, and truly it’s very delicious!

I am still finding cute spots near me. I recently found a delicious boba place and an incredible view a couple of steps from me. Oh Prague, when will you cease to surprise me?

Exterior photo of a local bakery in Prague.

I love freshly baked bread because it is like no other. This is a bakery that I discovered by accidentally walking in, and I couldn't have been happier. The owner is so sweet and welcoming. They recommended trying a traditional Czech bread, and ever since, I cannot order anything else. Please check this place out if you happen to be in the area.

Interior photo of Waf Waf, a crepe and waffle restaurant in Prague.

Waf Waf was the first restaurant I dined in. Their menu can be enjoyed by almost anyone because it’s for both sweet and salty folks. I certainly recommend ordering the savory crepes. This is an affordable option for students wishing to eat something tasty.

So, why am I so obsessed with Prague 2? Because it's not just a place for me to live; it's a place to thrive. It's where I feel safe, inspired, and totally alive. And through my photos, I want to share that feeling with all of you. Because no matter where you are in this neighborhood, there's magic waiting to be discovered.

Exterior photo of a Z-Market in Prague.

As a college student, a convenience store is needed at all times, and Z-market has saved me too many times. They have everything a college student needs: ramen! Just kidding, they have items from fresh produce to school supplies.

Exterior photo of Madame Lyn, a Vietnamese restaurant in Prague.

Madame Lyn is right next to my flat and has the best pho I’ve tasted. The flavors were ineffable. It is pricey but worth it. I only go when I have accomplished a small goal. If you want to try Vietnamese food, please visit Madame Lyn.
