The Best Photo Spots in Granada, Spain

"Pictures or it didn’t happen" is a saying I live by, and although it is very important to never let that ruin your “in-present moment,” study abroad is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so why not get that quick flick... or 20? ;) Here are some of my favorite photo spots in Granada.

1. Mirador de San Miguel Alto

This Mirador is quite the hike, but the view is so worth it! You can get there by foot or by car. My favorite time to go was right before sunset, because when the sun sets, the lights turn on the Alhambra, and you can get a sick shot like this one (pictured above)!

2. Caja Granada Cultural Center

On Dia de Andalucia, my friends and I wanted to take advantage of all the free exhibits, one of which was a museum of the history of Andalucia. Located in the Caja Granada Cultural Center, there is a spiral outside patio in the center of it where you can take some pretty epic photos. Beware, on a bright day, the sunlight bounces off the light and is nearly blinding!

3. Alcazaba at the Alhambra

The Alhambra is a must-see in all of Granada, and when you take your tour, be sure to go to the Alcazaba watchtower. Here, you can get one of the best and most central views of Granada.

4. Los Cahorros Alto - Monachil

Located in the small town of Monachil, 40 minutes outside of the city center, the Los Cahorros trail provides an exciting excursion for the nature lover. There are various trails to choose from, and my friends and I selected Los Cahorros Alto. We went way up into the mountains and I was able to capture this moment.

5. Mirador de San Nicolas

Mirador de San Nicolas is located in the historical neighborhood of the Albaycin, and this is another great spot to watch the sunrise and sunset. The best views of the Alhambra are seen from here, and the walk is an easy one.
