4 Best Places to Study on a Sunday in Paris

Sundays in Paris are meant for staying in bed, taking a leisurely stroll, enjoying a warm cup of tea, and catching up on all the homework that was supposed to be done over the weekend. -- Except getting homework done on a Sunday can be a tough task when almost all of Paris is shut down. Walk down any street and you’ll soon find everyone’s enjoying the same day off together with the “fermee” sign prominent in the window.

While the trusty Starbucks is open on Sunday’s, here are my four top picks for studying abroad in Paris on a Sunday (or other days too!)

If you need study snacks…

Cosy Corner has unlimited snacks and drinks for 12 euros for students on Sunday.

Cosy Corner

Address: 8, Rue Saint- Martin 75004 Paris
Wifi: yes
Hours: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. everyday

Cosy Corner offers small rooms available to collaborate with others.

Cosy Corner offers a collaborative space with comfy chairs, wifi and unlimited snacks and drinks. This two-tiered study lounge charges by the hour - 5 euros per hour, 24 euros for the day, and a special discounted 12 euros day rate for students on Sunday’s. Each seat has a plug nearby with counter space for laptops and books. The first floor has great lighting and people watching windows. Downstairs there is a small kitchenette, sofas and a huge bookcase against the wall.

If you want lunch/dinner too…

Oni Coffee has free wifi and great decor.

Oni Coffee

Address: 10 boulevard Saint-Martin 75010 Paris
Wifi: yes
Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. , Sunday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Their menu changes depending on what is in season.

Oni Coffee is my favorite spot in Paris, hands down. Although this is a pretty small cafe, it boasts a fresh and unique menu great for a meal or for a small snack while you study. With free wifi, plugs at each table, and cute decor, you can’t go wrong here.

If you want to feel at home…

Strada Cafe is tucked away on a small street.

Strada Cafe

Address: 94 Rue De Temple 75003 Paris
Wifi: yes
Hours: Monday - Friday   8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday  10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
***(no laptops on the weekend)

Strada Cafe is friendly, small and homey - I feel like it's a Santa Monica coffee shop that got plopped in Paris. The staff is very laid back and English speaking - you can take your coffee to go or sit for a while. The place gets packed pretty fast, so if you want to ensure a spot, I suggest going earlier in the day.

If you’re looking for some good coffee…

Matamata Coffee has a cozy upstairs with friendly baristas.

Matamata Coffee

Address: 58 Rue d'Argout, 75002 Paris
Wifi: yes
Hours: Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Sunday: 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Downstairs is the perfect place for some quiet study time.

Matamata Coffee has a prime location. If you ever find yourself shopping in the Montorgueil neighborhood, make sure you stop by. You will immediately feel welcome by the friendly baristas (who also speak English) and the warm space inside. If you're tired of tiny espressos and want a good cup of joe, this is your spot. Free wifi, craft drinks, and a cool downstairs study dungeon.

Happy studying!
