There's More Than Potatoes In Ireland

Before I got to Dublin, I didn't have the highest expectations for the food scene. All I could really think of as distinctively Irish dishes were potatoes, beef and Guinness stew, and probably more potatoes. While the Irish certainly do like their potatoes (especially in the form of fries, which I 100% support), the city of Dublin is so vibrant and young, and the growing international presence in the city has brought many wonderful types of food to the Emerald Isle.
As a lover of all things French, finding macaroons in Dublin rocked my world.

Probably the cutest grocery on the planet. They have lots of artisan and international products (like American breakfast cereal!)

The best burger in Dublin... and maybe the world?

Much to my surprise, I was able to get burritos, gyros, burgers, artisan coffee, and even French macaroons with ease while living here! Any craving I had could be satisfied by the many, many restaurants and grocery stores in Dublin.
Needless to say, we ate many doughnuts like these this semester.

This ice cream is made in the Dingle peninsula of Ireland, and it makes us so happy.

I've included some of my favorite spots to eat here in this post, and once you get to Dublin, you'll find that the staff in the CEA office are like walking Zagat guides and they can point you in the right direction. There are certainly options for you once you get sick of potatoes (as if that is even possible).

Cheers!
