Experience Dublin

The city of Dublin is always active. No matter what day it is or what time of day it is, you will always find something to do.

Dublin City University is situated a bit outside of the city, but any activity that sounds interesting is only a short bus ride away! From the bus, walking is generally the next form of transportation to get around the city, however; there are bike racks located throughout the city where you can rent bikes for a day of roaming around.

Running through the city is the River Liffey. There are multiple bridges that cross the river which make for a lovely walk with a cup of tea or coffee while looking in the surrounding shops. On the warmer days, a cone full of freshly made gelato can make for a nice treat while walking around.

The nightlife in the Dublin is quite lively. There are countless pubs and clubs to attend. The Temple Bar area is a must see. It is generally very touristy so you won’t get much interaction with the locals there, but it is always a good time and definitely worth a visit, if only to walk the narrow, cobblestone streets.

One of my favorite attractions while studying abroad in Dublin is the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland. The sites within the garden are breathtaking. There are ponds, hidden stairways and pathways, and a wide variety of flowers and vegetation to see. It’s a very serene environment for a day of relaxation. Dublin is full of a vast array of activities! The ones I’ve mentioned barely touch on the options available. It’s a fantastic city where boredom is not an option!

The National Botanic Gardens are full of "secret" stairs
and paths that lead you throughout the garden.

The Temple Bar area is fun place during both
the day and night. There are fun shops to visit
during the day and a variety of
pubs and clubs to visit at night!

Dipping a market fresh strawberry into freshly
made gelato is absolutely delicious. It's my
favorite treat to get in the city.

The many bridges that cross the river make for a fun walk.

The National Botanic Gardens of Ireland contain beautiful,
serene scenes for a day of relaxing and unwinding. It's easy
to lose track of time while sitting on a bench and
soaking in the surroundings.
