
Spend your summer living in vibrant Rome, immersing into local culture as you gain insight into Roman life. Enjoy hands-on learning as you go behind the scenes in artists’ workshops, local businesses, vineyards, and other sites and experiences that bring lessons learned in the classroom to life. You’ll gain true insight and feeling for your host culture, and develop the international cultural fluency you need to communicate and function effectively in an increasingly globalized world.

Choose between Session I (typically 3.5-weeks) or Session I + Session II (typically 7.5-week). In Session I, you'll enroll in 1-2 courses, while in Session I + Session II you'll enroll in 2 courses. Courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits. Students in Session I may earn 3-6 credits (up to 90 contact hours); students in Session I + Session II may earn up to a total of 6 credits (90 contact hours).

Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. You'll receive a calendar of excursions during orientation; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.
