This private Argentine university hosts almost 1,000 international students each year. Located in the residential Belgrano neighborhood, the Universidad de Belgrano offers courses taught in your choice of Spanish and English in fields such as business, communications, cultural studies, social sciences, and Spanish language for all abilities. Its modern campus offers cultural and athletic activities to enhance student life and complement academics.
When you study abroad in Buenos Aires, you can choose CEA CAPA housing or arrange your own independent housing. CEA CAPA housing assignments are based on availability and confirmation date; we make every effort to match your housing requests, but we can’t guarantee housing preferences.
Program Structure
Choose a 1- or 2-course option. Courses meet for 60 contact hours/3 credits. Classes meet for 3 hours per day, Monday-Thursday. If you choose the 1-course option, you may earn up to a total of 3 credits (up to 60 contact hours); if you choose the 2-course option, you may earn up to a total of 6 credits (up to 120 contact hours).
The University of Belgrano utilizes a 45-minute contact hour whereas the United States higher education system utilizes a 50-minute contact hour. All University of Belgrano courses represent the 45 contact hour amount and an estimated US credit calculation based on the contact hours. Each University of Belgrano transcript will include the number of hours per week and the weeks in the semester, so US universities may calculate the appropriate number of US credits for students.
We’ll assess your Spanish language level before your program begins to ensure that you're in the right program for you. Final course registration takes place on-site. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.
The host institution has offered the following courses in the past. Please note that course listings may not be finalized until the start of the term; we’ll post an updated list when the host institution finalizes its offerings.
*Courses with an asterisk indicate that the course has been associated with multiple subject areas.

Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs*. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. You'll receive a calendar of excursions
during orientation; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.
Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay
A World Heritage Site, Colonia was founded by the Portuguese in 1680. The historic quarter still captures the look and feel of the colonial era in Latin America. You’ll travel by ferry across the River Plate from Buenos Aires to explore this charming town’s cobbled streets leading to old lighthouses, inns, restaurants, and its original bullfighting ring. You’ll also enjoy a traditional lunch during your time in Uruguay.
