About the Program

Sydney is a breathtaking, exciting, and culturally rich Global City. With more than 120 nationalities living here, Sydney is one of the largest multicultural cities in the world. You can enjoy cuisine from around the globe and take part in annual international celebrations such as Buddha's Birthday Multicultural Festival and Chinese New Year.
This immersive study abroad program gives you insight into the significant ways in which Sydney has been imagined, invented, and transformed by globalization.

Program Structure & Courses

You'll enroll in 2-3 CAPA elective courses at the CAPA Sydney Center from the catalog of course options available to you. Elective courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits. Overall, you may earn 6-9 credits.

CAPA Center courses meet Monday through Thursday.

Prior to departure, you will select your preferred courses. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines. A transcript from the University of Minnesota is awarded upon successful completion of the program.

Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. You'll receive a calendar of excursions during orientation; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.
