About the Program
Sydney is a breathtaking, exciting, and culturally rich Global City. With more than 120 nationalities living here, Sydney is one of the largest multicultural cities in the world. You can enjoy cuisine from around the globe and take part in annual international celebrations such as Buddha's Birthday Multicultural Festival and Chinese New Year.
This immersive study abroad program gives you insight into the significant ways in which Sydney has been imagined, invented, and transformed by globalization.

Program Structure & Courses
You'll enroll in 2-3 CAPA elective courses at the CAPA Sydney Center from the catalog of course options available to you. Elective courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits. Overall, you may earn 6-9 credits.
CAPA Center courses meet Monday through Thursday.
Prior to departure, you will select your preferred courses. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines. A transcript from the University of Minnesota is awarded upon successful completion of the program.

Apartments are a perfect fit for students who want to experience Sydney like a local. Apartments are conveniently located in central Sydney, close to mass transportation stations with many shops, restaurants and cafes in near vicinity. In addition to shared bedrooms, you’ll have a kitchen in which to hone your cooking abilities, and lounge/dining area for relaxing or studying.

Live in an apartment hotel located within convenient access to public transportation, approximately 40 minutes by bus or train commute from the Sydney Centre. Option is slightly further from the Centre, but a shorter commute by public transport. The option includes cleaning service, free laundry facilities, sauna, gym and pool. You will share your room with a peer, apartments could house between 2-6 students with the majority housing 4 students. No meal plan is included however a kitchen is provided. Towels and linen are included.

- University of Technology Sydney: 40 minutes by public transport

Excursions
Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. You'll receive a calendar of excursions during orientation; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.
