DESCRIPTION

Sources of energy, renewable energy systems. Three-phase transformers. Transmission lines. Power and load flow. Symmetrical components and unsymmetrical faults. System protection. Synchronous generators, transient analysis and stability.

Learning Outcomes
1. Communicate an overview of Power systems and its changing landscape.
2. Learn and review three-phase systems and reactive power compensation.
3. Define and apply power transmission line models for load flow analysis.
4. Use computer aided programming to study load flow in a power system.
5. Apply symmetrical components for unsymmetrical faults in electrical equipment including synchronous generators.
6. Apply circuit models to analyse transient stability in power systems.
