DESCRIPTION
This module provides students with more advanced knowledge in the area of computer networks and data communications. It follows on from the module Networks and Data Communications 1 and it covers more advanced areas such as Network Design, Dynamic Routing, Network Simulation and Advanced Protocol Analysis and Design.
Learning Outcomes
1.Understand more advanced network implementations including enterprise and provide class networks
2.Analyze and design solutions related to Network Security including firewall configuration
3.Understand the role and design of dynamic network routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
4.Undertake detailed analysis of live network packet captures and be able to debug network problems
5.Use advanced Network Simulation software to design and simulate dynamically routed networks
