DESCRIPTION
Sociology is the study of social actors (individual or group), their activity and subjectivity, interaction, structure, and change. Contrary to the tradition that has tended to identify societies with nation-states, contemporary society is increasingly configured on a global scale. Consequently, the study of social phenomena transcends state boundaries, forming a global social structure. This structure generates positions and interactions that are necessary to understand social dynamics at different levels: individual, local, state, regional, and global.
Course will consist of 60hrs of in class work and 90 hrs of independent work outside the classroom.
