DESCRIPTION
This course aims at providing students with an understanding of the importance, role and use of data and knowledge in organizations and how effective data management can improve decision-making and business performance and create a sustainable competitive advantage, combining theoretical analysis and case studies (group work). Finally, it looks into how businesses can develop a BI strategy and what challenges they may meet and how to mitigate them. It explores the different types of knowledge and how knowledge sharing can be nurtured (learning organization). It continues with an analysis of the relation between Knowledge Management (KM) and Business Intelligence (BI), before going into some of the main outputs of BI such as reporting and dashboards.
