DESCRIPTION
This module introduces students to the urban context, and develops an understanding of the physical, social and economic surroundings which architecture has to deal with. It will consist of two parts; Firstly group analysis work, focusing upon observing, interpreting and describing the urban context. Secondly, individual design work, with the aim of positively influencing the complex urban relationships observed. It introduces students to the themes and scope of the year's design investigations.
