DESCRIPTION

The course helps the student contribute to the cultural development of Latin America through the understanding of the impact of the great Hispanic-American literary works on the socio-political evolution of the region. For this, it reviews the main Latin American literary works, analyzing them in the light of the context in which they were developed, and also interpreting their current importance and especially for the future development of Latin America. With the guide of the professor, it analyzes and assesses the impact of the different literary works in the socio-political evolution of the region, developing their critical capability when studying them through the organization of collaborative sub-groups which will research, analyze and present a literary work through novel formats that allow generating an open discussion on the importance of this in the historical development of the region. The purpose of the course is to help the student in the exercise of critical thinking when analyzing the relation between the literary evolution in the region and its socio-political development, which allows them to link past events and literary works of historical transcendence with present facts and their future projection. The students interpret, analyze and develop arguments for or against whether the works are still valid in the current context of the region. For this, the student will carry out research and analysis activities in and outside the class, and will also participate in group presentations, where he/she must present the assigned literary work creatively. This course allows the student a later professional exercise with ample and comprehensive humanistic foundations, guaranteeing a more solid contribution to the social and cultural development of the region through the promotion of the analysis of the impact of its literature on its socio-political development.
