DESCRIPTION

This course, aimed at students with an advanced level of Spanish, traces the development of Hispanic American literature, with a special focus on the period known as the boom of Hispanic American literature. It aims to provide students with a panoramic and analytical view of the main authors, novels, and literary styles that came to fruition in Latin America. To this end, students will acquire the necessary knowledge about the historical, social and artistic context of this period, which can be centered on the second half of the 20th century. Also, the state of the art of current Hispanic American literature will be shown.

The general characteristics of the different literary movements will be analyzed, commented and evaluated through specific authors and works. This study will be carried out in a particularly exhaustive way with respect to the works analyzed during the course, in order to know and value Hispanic American literature as the result of diverse cultures, societies and ideologies which are relevant to the history of the American continent.
