DESCRIPTION

This course is dedicated to explaining the linguistic foundations of the translation process, as well as the analysis, description, and explanation of the structures of linguistic systems. It allows students to become familiar with the terminology and basic concepts of Linguistics so that they can reflect on their own language and the various languages they master, as well as apply the knowledge and skills acquired to translation practice.
All these elements are essential for successfully undertaking the task of interlingual mediation. Given the evidence of the importance of a solid linguistic education for translators, this course constitutes a fundamental pillar and an unavoidable starting point for the training of future translation professionals.
