Este curso se dirige a lo que la Real Academia de la Lengua ha denominado hispanounidenses, es decir, personas de habla, origen o ascendencia hispana que residen en los Estados Unidos de América. La asignatura se plantea como objetivos principales: afianzar, profundizar y corregir la expresión oral y escrita del español en sus cuatro destrezas lingüísticas, a través de materiales basados en temas de actualidad que reflejen aspectos socioculturales del mundo hispanohablante.
