In this course, the students will be introduced in social theories that are important for the study of religion and theology. These are, for example, secularization, multiple religious belonging, believing without belonging, privatization, individualization and globalization. The students will get acquainted with the social scientific study of
religion, in particular with the sociology of religion, the psychology of religion and pedagogy/ religious education.
