DESCRIPTION

During this course the main goal will be to provide students with the necessary elements to introduce them to current global politcal dynamics happening in different parts of the world, mainly from a political science perspective, but also regarding history and international relations. The course uses a multidimensional approach to explore and explain the basic concepts and elements necessary to understand the current discussions being held among political science scholars, and the political arena. This task will be approached from both theoretical and an empirical way, focusing on institutions, actors and, current conflicts with examples drawn from contemporary politics in countries mainly from Europe and Latin America.
