Commitment to Expanding Program Opportunities

Custom and faculty-led programs serve as a valuable tool in increasing access to global experiences. Customized experiences can offer flexibility in timing, price, and curriculum, thus breaking down barriers for historically underrepresented groups. Additionally, custom programs can be intentionally designed for particular student populations, ensuring that the specific interests and needs of these students are championed and supported.

Custom programs also serve as distinct academic opportunities for students to develop personally and professionally. Exploring a new destination can spark meaningful exploration of topics that address Access, Opportunity, and Impact.

Custom programs we are proud to have supported that champion Access, Opportunity, and Impact:

  • Black Lives Matter program in London focused on comparative studies of social justice movements between the UK and the US
  • HBCU-supporting short-term programs in Barcelona, Seville, and Florence focused on globalization and migration
  • First-generation student program focused on global competence that rotates between Seville and Rome
  • Sign Language Studies Program in Paris open to hearing, deaf, and hard-of-hearing students
  • HBCU-supporting program in San José focused on health sciences, career development, and community engagement
  • First-generation student engineering program in Prague focused on equipping students with skills to navigate urban environments
  • Community college-supporting program in Barcelona focused on global housing issues and gentrification
