About Business Consulting
Business Consulting programs provide experiential opportunities that foster high-impact learning and build students’ career competencies. Students will engage in project-based learning with business enterprises abroad and receive a high-quality, hands-on experience that builds critical academic and professional skills. By participating in a CEA CAPA Business Consulting program, students will be able to synthesize the nature and rigor of business consulting as practiced in the field. Students will also build their skills in:

Program Framework
CEA COURSE: BUSINESS CONSULTING (3 CREDITS)
Online asynchronous course with weekly live/synchronous instruction (view our syllabus)
*You may choose to incorporate additional coursework into your program.
BUSINESS CONSULTING PROJECT
In this program, CEA CAPA will facilitate team consulting projects with local companies:
- Consulting teams of 3-5 students will be presented with a case/project by their assigned organization “client.”
- Teams will work in a competitive environment to design a thorough proposal aimed to address their client’s needs and objectives.
- Students will have the opportunity to learn about their client through in-person or virtual meetings and by visiting their facilities/operations.
- Students will be encouraged to ask questions during scheduled sessions to inform their project proposals.
- At the close of the program, each group will present their final project for the client’s consideration and feedback.
FLEXIBLE PROGRAM MODEL
- The program can be offered onsite or as part of an onsite/virtual hybrid.
- Business Consulting programs should be a minimum of 4 weeks and can be aligned to your campus’s academic calendar.
- CEA CAPA can facilitate these programs without a university representative or you may choose to send a faculty/staff leader.
Co-Curricular Support
Pre-Program Student Assessment and Coaching
Students will be required to complete an initial assessment survey and interview to determine their motivation for participation, their current strengths, and area for growth. They will also participate in several career coaching workshops to support their transition from student to professional.
Academic Orientation
Students will participate in a course orientation at the launch of the program to prepare them for academic success within this particular learning modality.
Cultural Discussions
Students will be required to attend several discussions that focus on the cultural nuances of the multicultural workplace. Each session will be facilitated by an onsite CEA CAPA staff member.
Additional Program Inclusions
Other program elements, such as cultural activities and excursions, can be customized according to university needs and program goals.
