CEA CAPA Education Abroad is proud to congratulate Jeffrey Tsang M.Ed. of Michigan State University on receiving the 2025 MSU Award for Outstanding Service to Education Abroad. This well-deserved honor reflects Jeffrey’s dedication to expanding global learning opportunities for students, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds and we are honored to have partnered with him in this work.
As the assistant director for advising initiatives in the College of Engineering, Jeffrey has been instrumental in reshaping what international education looks like for engineering students at MSU. Through his leadership, the college has dramatically increased education abroad participation among first-generation and BIPOC students by dispelling long-held myths around curriculum flexibility and offering programs that truly align with students’ academic goals.
Our collaboration with Jeffrey on the Creating Inclusive Excellence Grant stands out as a model of what’s possible when shared values and a commitment to access come together. The initiative, which also included support from the MSU Library, provided 80 engineering students with their first U.S. passport, an essential first step for many on their journey abroad. With support from CEA CAPA, 50 scholarships were awarded in addition to Jeffrey’s $12,000 grant, ensuring more students had the opportunity to see themselves as global citizens.
“We are proud to partner with Jeffrey Tsang at Michigan State University’s College of Engineering,” Jon Jorgenson, senior regional director at CEA CAPA, said. “His dedication to student success and innovation has made a positive impact on the academic and professional growth of future engineers. His work represents the spirit of collaboration and excellence that defines Michigan State.”
Jeffrey’s ability to lead with vision, empathy, and action inspires us at CEA CAPA since working with MSU Engineering in 2017. His work reflects the inclusive spirit that guides our mission. Congratulations to Jeffrey and we look forward to continuing this important work together.
