You'll Prague-ably Find Me Here

Prague is an interesting and beautiful city, and I've had a blast exploring it! Here are some of my favorite places that I have found.
I love the contrast between the greenery of the park and the red rooftops of the buildings around it.

Havlíčkovy sady

This public park is less than a 10-minute walk from my apartment and there’s so much to explore here. It has a bunch of different trails to run on. Depending on the entrance you go through, if you go up the hill, you will find yourself at a restaurant that overlooks the east side of the city. There’s a small vineyard near the restaurant, and a great lookout spot. You’ll see plenty of people walking around and picnicking. Sometimes there are events being hosted in the building at the top. There are plenty of benches and a weird cave thing.

The library is nice and quiet and is the
perfect place to get homework done.

Městská knihovna v Praze

I love the atmosphere of cafes, but after awhile, those drinks and pastries started to make a little dent in my wallet. I usually studied in the library back at Chapman and realized that quiet environment was what I needed to be more productive. Now I frequent the small public library near my apartment where there’s free WiFi, no slow covers of American pop songs, and very few people.

It's fun to have a meal together and talk
about the past and next week's travels.

Pho Original

When I got to Prague, I thought I was going to stick out as a tourist due to my personal heritage, but I was surprised to learn that there a decent-sized Vietnamese population. Because of this, there’s no shortage of restaurants to get Vietnamese food. My friends and I have started Sunday Pho-nday where we get pho on Sunday nights after we get back from traveling. Going out for food in Prague is nice because you can get a meal and there for about $6.

Pražský hrad (Prague Castle)

Prague Castle covers a huge area including the palace, St. Vitus Cathedral, and Golden Lane. You can get up to the castle and the viewpoints for free, but if you want to go into the actual castle main area, you have to go through a security check and buy tickets to get into the buildings. I love just walking around the area, and seeing the sunrise from there is a must during the warmer weather days. You can either walk up the hill from Malo Strana area and pass all the cute shops and restaurants, or take a tram.

This photo was taken in the gardens of Prague Castle.

John Lennon Wall

Only a short walk from AAU and Charles Bridge is the famous John Lennon Wall. You would think it’s in the touristy part of Prague, but it’s kind of tucked away down a little street near a park. I love the way it evolves and changes every time I see it, as people add their own graffiti to it.

You'll find all sorts of people at the John Lennon Wall.
