It is a relatively small, simple city where you can easily run into somebody anywhere you go. Life is slower in Spain in general and it has been interesting being able to experience such a different way of life than I am used to at home.
El Castillo Santa Barbara is where the city used to be housed for protection. It is a great place to get both exercise and a great view of the city!
Alicante is close to other cool cities where you can also go hiking and see different things.
Swimming an old fish hatchery in Campello with Alvaro, our site director here!
My friend and I rode the tram to Benidorm, one of the more commercial cities around here.
We had a CEA excursion to Valencia, the closest "big city" to Alicante.
El Mercado Central
While in Valencia, we also came here, the largest aquarium in all of Europe!
Hiking and snorkling in Calpe!
Studying abroad in Alicante has been a great fit for me because of the array of things that I can do here. It is important to think about what a place has to offer you in addition to studying because you will be spending most of your time outside of the classroom experiencing the country. The activities available compliment my interests well and I am glad I chose to come to Alicante.
