I wish that someone would have told me before I went abroad that taking solo trips is one of the most important things you can do.

Although I love traveling with friends, I never felt more blissful than I did traveling alone. The opportunity really gives you time to reflect and is the perfect way to hit the reset button.

Especially when you are abroad it seems that I was always busy doing something or with friends. It is nice to be on your own time and getting a chance to see all the attractions you are interested in, which of course you have to compromise if you are with a friend group.

The stigma that traveling alone is dangerous is completely false in my experience. If you travel to the right place and are smart about your traveling habits than I can not see a reason to not take a solo trip.
