A Trip to Greenwich

 The Shard

Upon arriving in Greenwich, we went straight to the National Maritime. Although it was one of the smallest museums I’ve visited while in London, it was surprisingly one of the most interactive ones. Because we went during the day, we were alone in the museum and things got pretty crazy... trying on captain outfits and building warships out of blocks!

After checking out the museum, we headed to Saint Alfege Church, but not before, snapping some pictures of the Royal Naval College. Although much smaller, Alfege reminded me of architecture I’ve seen before.  Later to find out that, both Saint Paul’s Cathedral and Saint Alfege Church were designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor and that’s why they bare much resemblance.

Unfortunately, we were so caught up being tourists, that we missed the last call to the Royal Greenwich Observatory, where you are able stand on the eastern and western hemisphere – yes be at two places at the same time. Instead, we continued our day at the Greenwich Market. There were dozens of independent boutique shops where I found the cutest scarves for Spring!

After sightseeing and shopping, it was time to eat! I firmly believe that market food is the best food. Because it was almost closing time, most of the food vendors had half off all their foods and needless to say I had Italian, Brazilian, and Mexican food.

After a long day, we ended up at Gypsy Moth for a nice cold beverage and listened to street performers while watching the sunset!
