CEA Excursion: Lisbon

We arrived in Lisbon by bus and took a walking tour of the city and got to know some of the many famous neighborhoods in Lisbon, like Bairro Alto, and walked the grand Avenida da Liberdade.
 Avenida da Liberdade

It was rainy the first night we were there, but the sights made up for being soaked to the bone. Thankfully the next day, our free day, was sunny and absolutely beautiful.
Ascensor da Glória – funiculars throughout the city transport people up and down the hilly streets of Lisbon

I enjoyed wandering the city and finding colorful, decorated buildings around every corner. Lisbon is such a vibrant city, in every definition of the word. The hills, rainbow of colors, weather and the striking beauty were reminiscent of San Francisco, which was reaffirmed with the bridge crossing the Rio Tejo, an almost replica of the Golden Gate Bridge (it was built by the same company).
Amazing Tuna tartar at the Time Out Market in Lisbon which is full people and tasty eateries. Snag a table or a place to stand before you order! *Not pictured Piri Piri Chicken that was gone too fast to get a picture of - delicious at a typical food of Portugal*
 The vibrant streets of Lisbon

CEA organized many interesting and culturally enriching visits and allotted plenty of free time to get lost in Lisbon and get to know the city a bit more. The weather made the trip pretty trying, but the city was beautiful and interesting despite everything.
