We're Going to the Zoo Today

My last excursion with CEA was to the Prague Zoo, which is in the area of Prague 7. We had a perfect group size: just six. To get there, we took the tram and then a shuttle. Were we the oldest students there? Yes, but since we went on a Thursday morning, the exhibits weren't too crowded and we could take our time.

 The Prague Zoo is massive

I had heard that the Prague Zoo was one of the best zoos in the world, and I am glad to have had the opportunity to go on such a beautiful day in November. It was pretty cold, but the sun was shining, the leaves were changing color, and we got to see a bunch of animals.
It may be sunny in November, but you definitely need to bundle up.

The first animals we saw were lemurs. We stepped into an gated area with a glass building in the center, so I thought we would just be able to watch them on the inside of that. To my surprise, they were walking all around us, and I got to be 3 feet away from one, making for some fun photos.
 Getting cozy with lemurs.

The zoo really had every animal you could think of, from seals to elephants to flamingos. The big felines, the lions and tigers, were indoors, but we could still see them through glass observation areas. The best part was seeing the baby animals. There were two baby elephants and one baby gorilla.
What animals couldn't you find here?

I understood why the zoo was ranked 7th on TripAdvisor's list of Prague attractions. There is a lower level and an upper level of the zoo. You could either walk up a hill to get to the top, or you could pay a small fee to take a chair lift. From there, you could get some great views of the city, although you have to be careful not to drop your camera!
The 24 Czech crowns were well-spent.

Here's a video to give you a sense of what you could see.  I wish I would have gone when it was warmer outside, as we did not get to see too many animals in the outdoor enclosures. There were far more animals than what are featured in this video, so I highly recommend checking out the zoo for yourself!
