The CEA CAPA Buenos Aires Center, located in the diverse Retiro Neighborhood, offers you an unforgettable study abroad experience in the heart of Argentina’s capital. Situated in the Asociación Argentina de Cultura Inglesa building, the Center provides you with a central location and a collaborative academic base. With art galleries, retro cafes, and historical landmarks like the Plaza San Martín just steps away, you will dive into a city that blends European influence with modern Latin American style.
By leveraging the city’s rich history, culture, and political landscape, the CEA CAPA Buenos Aires Center elevates the learning experience by engaging you beyond the classroom and into the community. Whether it’s a 15-minute bus ride to the iconic Teatro Colón opera house or a day trip to the scenic Tigre Delta, you will explore all Buenos Aires has to offer while connecting with fellow students and locals.
The dedicated Buenos Aires faculty fosters your intellectual and personal growth. Courses are complemented by excursions that allow you to explore rural areas of Argentina and even other countries in Latin America. The Buenos Aires Center’s interdisciplinary curriculum not only provides you with an understanding of Argentina and Latin America but also empowers you to critically reflect on your own cultural and social identities, deepening your global fluency.

Accreditation
Courses taught at the CEA CAPA Buenos Aires Center have been designed in conjunction with, and approved by, the University of New Haven (UNH). In addition, faculty appointments have been approved by UNH. After the successful completion of a session at the CEA CAPA Buenos Aires Center, you will receive credit for your work from UNH. Located in Connecticut, the University of New Haven is a student-focused, comprehensive university that’s fully accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). The agreement between CEA CAPA and UNH follows the highest standards of good practice in education abroad and satisfies the rigorous requirements of the University's institutional accreditor, making credits earned at the CEA CAPA Buenos Aires Center easily transferable to US-accredited institutions. Grading
Instructors at the CEA CAPA Buenos Aires Center carefully evaluate students’ work and progress throughout the academic session. When calculating grades, instructors consider written and oral exercises, homework assignments, attendance, classroom participation, and exam performance.

Classroom and Information
- Classes are taught by local international faculty selected by CEA CAPA and approved by UNH.
- Faculty members represent a variety of academic and professional backgrounds.
- Periodic exams, homework assignments, and final exams will be administered.
- Attendance in all classes is mandatory and monitored by each instructor.
- Class size is up to 25 students. Small class sizes allow for personalized attention from your instructors.

Program Structure & Courses
You’ll enroll in 4-5 CEA CAPA courses. Courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits. If you choose the Early Start option, you’ll enroll in an additional language course that meets for 45 contact hours/3 credits. You may earn 12-15 credits (up to 225 contact hours); with the Early Start option, you may earn up to 18 credits (up to 315 contact hours).
Classes meet 1-3 times per week, Monday-Thursday. Active learning components required by your courses may be scheduled for Fridays. The Early Start language course meets Monday-Thursday for a total of 22.5 hours per week.
Prior to departure, you will select your preferred courses and take a language placement exam. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. To ensure that you receive credit for the language level you place into, have your home school pre-approve courses at several levels before you leave for Argentina. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

All CEA CAPA students studying in Buenos Aires have the option of living in apartments while abroad. Generally located in downtown Palermo or Belgrano, or Recoleta/Barrio Norte neighborhoods these apartments cater to independent, do-it-yourself students who want to experience Buenos Aires as a local apartment-dweller would. Apartments vary in age, décor and size, from studio apartments to two bedrooms. So whip up some homemade empanadas in your fully equipped kitchen, crack open your window, and watch the Argentine world unfold before your eyes.

Experience Buenos Aires’ vibrant culture while living in a homestay. CEA CAPA homestays usually have one host mom - or a couple - who loves to have international students around. For the students who want to live life abroad in a local and international environment - usually with other students - the homestay is great, because it can give you the locals' insight into the city.

Get out and explore! Excursions are offered for most semester, year, and summer programs. Semester students are typically offered between two to three excursions and summer study students are typically offered between one to two excursions. You'll receive a calendar of excursions during orientation; here are a few day and overnight excursions we've offered in the past.
