DESCRIPTION
The objective of this course is to develop the student's communication skills through a variety of oral exercises and written assignments. Throughout this course, students will learn to identify and describe people, places, and objects both orally and written, making use of the structural clauses of ser and estar. Small debates will be organized in class to allow students the opportunity to practice expressing their opinions. Students will also be required to synthesize their ideas in thoughtful essays. Students will learn grammatical tenses of imperative verb structures used to express permission, prohibition, obligation, and necessity. Students will develop the oral skills to organize chronological events and situations in a story, as well as communication strategies to use to call attention, to ask to repeat the information and to express apology. Finally, students will synthesize these skills to be able to deal with situations related to health.
