Buenos Aires is a beautiful city full of history and excitement. As I walk down the streets everyday, I am still in awe of the magnificent architecture that fills the historic areas of the city.
These first two pictures were taken on my walk to school. I live in an upper-class neighborhood called Belgrano. On my walk to my study abroad program in Buenos Aires each morning I pass by this incredible building that looks like a castle. I learned that it is actually a primary school.
This picture was taken on my walk to school as well. The tree-lined streets add some life in the midst of the concrete in the city. I feel so lucky to live so close to the University of Belgrano and that the neighborhood is this beautiful!
One of my favorite areas of the city is Palermo. It has a young vibe and there's a lot to see. I enjoy wandering around Palermo to stumble upon new cafes, restaurants, bookstores, and other local shops. On weekends there is a craft market where vendors sell handcrafted souvenirs, and people will play music in the plaza.
The city of Buenos Aires has so much to offer! Something I have found so interesting and hauntingly beautiful is the Cementerio de la Recoleta. This historical cemetery has astounding architecture and is the resting place of many famous Argentines including Eva Perón, past presidents, and authors. If you pay attention to the name plates on the tombs you will recognize many of the street names in Buenos Aires.

You can spend hours walking around and admiring the intricate sepulchres. Although a cemetery isn't a usual tourist destination, I would highly recommend Cementerio de la Recoleta because it is full of history and interesting architecture. Many Argentines I have talked to recommend visiting this cemetery because of its uniqueness and cultural significance in the city.
