Embracing Wellness and Happiness in the South of France
While studying abroad in the French Riviera, I set out to find a balance between exploring new places, connecting with others, and cultivating a sense of well-being and happiness. I want to share the journey that helped me realize how important it is to take life one day at a time, to step out of my comfort zone, and to appreciate both the grand and simple moments that contribute to a fulfilling life.
Plage La Gravette – the most breathtaking beach I’ve ever visited. This stunning spot became my go-to sanctuary during my time abroad, offering moments of peace and tranquility amidst the beauty of the South of France.
A moment of pure joy as I walk to the beach for the first time, soaking in the fresh air and warm sun on my face. Taking in the view and embracing my new home for the next few months.
One of the most enriching aspects of my time abroad was the planned excursions organized by CEA CAPA, which can be seen in several of these images. These excursions were an easy and fun way to see incredible places while also meeting amazing new people.
A special moment with my friends, cooking a home-cooked meal together in our apartment. Enjoying each other's company and the simple joy of sharing a meal.
On an unforgettable excursion with our program to the stunning cities of Nice, Eze, and Monaco. Enjoying the breathtaking scenery and experiencing the world together.
From guided tours to spontaneous adventures, I learned that stepping outside my comfort zone and embracing new experiences often led to some of the most memorable moments. Whether I was wandering through local museums, exploring hidden gems, or admiring breathtaking views, each experience filled me with a sense of awe and wonder.
My friend Ella striking a pose during one of our longest walks around the Cap d'Antibes. We were having so much fun that we ended up walking the entire cap! The weather was perfect, and the views were absolutely breathtaking.
An unforgettable moment from the roof of the Louvre, where we explored incredible artworks and exhibits. It turned out to be one of the coolest places we visited, far more captivating than I ever expected.
Equally important to these excursions were the quieter moments. Living so close to the beautiful beach allowed me to unwind and relax in ways I hadn’t anticipated. The beach became a place of calm where I could center myself, take long walks by the water, and simply be present in the moment. These moments of stillness gave me a new appreciation for the importance of self-care, reminding me that taking time for myself was just as essential as any grand adventure.
Another memorable excursion to St. Paul de Vence, France. After making perfume in Grasse, we explored this charming town, watching the sunset and winding down after such an amazing, unforgettable day.
A breathtaking view of Mont Blanc. I had the chance to visit family in northern France, and they took my friend and I on a drive up to the Alps. Experiencing the snowy mountaintops in December was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.
I also found joy and importance in the simplest of activities, like cooking with my friends in our apartment. Spending time inside cooking dinner and just hanging out with new incredible friends, served as a reminder that happiness can be found in the little things. I learned that sharing experiences, laughter, and meals with others not only created lasting memories but also contributed to my sense of peace and fulfillment.
Of course, we had to visit the Eiffel Tower while in France. Paris truly felt like a dream, and experiencing the Eiffel Tower with my friends made it even more special.
A bittersweet moment with all the wonderful new friends I made, enjoying a home cooked meal together before parting ways. I was filled with gratitude, love, and appreciation for the memories we created and the amazing people I met.
As my time in the South of France ended, I found myself reflecting on my time abroad. I felt a profound sense of gratitude when surrounded by the new people I met throughout my journey. The happiness, peace, and joy I had discovered along the way were not just a result of the places I visited, but of the people I met and the experiences we shared. My time abroad taught me the importance of living in the moment, embracing balance, and finding joy in both the big and small moments of life.
