A Coffee Tour of Aix-en-Provence, France
After my first few weeks studying abroad in Aix-en-Provence, I started to feel like I wasn’t getting around the city enough. My friend and I realized that we have a break between classes at the same time on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So, we decided to go to a new cafe every Tuesday and Thursday during this time. This has been a really fun and exciting way to experience more of Aix-en-Provence. Plus, getting a coffee and a pastry isn’t too expensive in Aix! It has become my favorite way to explore the city through the cafés. Here are seven coffee shops in Aix-en-Provence:
1. Aix Presso
Aix Presso is a classic place to sit and people-watch outside with a drink. My favorite thing to get there is the Café Viennois, which is an espresso with whipped cream. Usually, there is a street performer out on the square, and on market days, it is right by the flower market.

2. Amorino
Amorino is another place that my friends and I frequent. We haven’t gotten coffee there, but if you want a late-night sweet treat, it’s a great place to go. In this picture, my friend got a thick hot chocolate with almond milk. I also really like getting a crepe with a scoop of gelato there.

3. Vanim
Vanim is one of my favorite coffee shops in Aix. It feels like home with flavored syrup, matcha, chai, and dairy-free milk. They are also one of the only places that I’ve found with Wi-Fi.

4. Les Moulins de César
Les Moulins de César has amazing cups coated with praline or pistachio butter with espresso on the inside. You can also get a pretty good pain au chocolat there.

5. Maison Weibel
Maison Weibel might be the most iconic patisserie in Aix. The desserts and pastries there are delicious. They also have matcha, which is harder to come by here.

6. Le Coin des Chineurs
Le Coin des Chineurs is a fun place to have a coffee. Not only is it a coffee shop, but it is also a second-hand vintage clothing store. It’s great for people like me who like to get a coffee and go thrifting in the States.

7. Le Petit Bistrot
Lastly, Le Petit Bistrot has good drinks and French fries. The atmosphere inside of the restaurant is really cool with gallery walls and trinkets as decorations.
