Local Highlights

Hiking Ste. Victoire Mountain

Students love the fact that they can hike to the top of Ste Victoire mountain on Aix’s doorstep in an afternoon (don’t worry, it’s a mere climb of 670 to 3,336 feet!) and be rewarded with breathtaking views. You may recognize Ste. Victoire from artist Paul Cezanne’s paintings and sketches. Jump on a local bus in town center and 30 minutes later you’re at the foot of the mountain... and back in Aix for tea time!

Crepe a Gogo

Don’t miss Crepe a Gogo in the walkway under the Cours Mirabeau, known for its addictive, take-away crepes. It’s the crepe institution in Aix.

Patisserie Bechard

Speaking of delicious, irresistible treats, the best croissants in all of France (et oui…) come from Patisserie Bechard on the Cours Mirabeau. The regular croissants are to die for and the ones stuffed with almond paste make you think you’re already arrived in gastronomic heaven.

Day Trips by Bus

Get a free Ticket 13 bus pass and enjoy day trips for just 2€ in the area. Jump on a local bus and head down to the Mediterranean for a dip or check out the amazing museums in Marseille.

La Torse Park

Go jogging in La Torse park —a 10-minute jog from the main street—with its river and trees. Don’t forget to take a baguette for the ducks! It’s the perfect place to picnic and sunbathe after class.

If you could go anywhere, where would you choose?

Can't decide? Don't worry. We still love you. Check as many as you like. Still not sure? That's OK. We would totally have a hard time too. Just check 'I don't know yet'.
