Founded in 1505, the University of Seville is one of Spain’s largest educational institutions. Join other international students in courses taught in your choice of Spanish and English.

Set on a pleasant campus just outside of the city center, Pablo de Olavide University offers modern amenities not often found in an urban setting, including athletic, laboratory, and technical facilities. Enjoy an immersive experience at this exclusive university.
Enjoy interactive courses that incorporate a global perspective at the CEA Seville Center. Your learning comes to life through hands-on experiences that turn Seville into a living classroom. The Center is conveniently located in the center of the city, near Seville’s stunning la Giralda cathedral. Please note that coursework for the Virtual Internship program will take place remotely.

When in Seville, live as the locals do! Choose CEA housing or arrange your own independent housing. CEA housing assignments are based on availability and confirmation date; we make every effort to match your housing requests, but we can’t guarantee housing preferences.

Please note that housing is not included in Virtual Internship programs.

Program Structure

Each semester, you'll choose 1 core course and 1-3 elective courses at the CEA Seville Center. You'll also choose 1-2 elective courses at the University of Seville or 1-2 elective courses at Pablo de Olavide University. You also have the option to enroll in up to 2 CEA virtual courses. CEA and USS courses meet for 45 contact hours/3 credits. UPO courses meet for 15-75 contact hours/1-5 credits.

Semester students earn 12-15 credits (up to 225 contact hours); academic year students earn 24-30 credits (up to 450 contact hours).

Classes meet on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Active learning components required by your courses may be scheduled on Fridays.

CEA virtual courses are taught in English using an online Learning Management System. You are expected to be an active participant in online forums, in addition to completing your regular readings, videos and homework. You can expect a blend of synchronous (live) and asynchronous (at your own pace) learning approaches that provide individual attention and flexibility for your learning style. Engaging in your “own way” gives you an opportunity to showcase your engagement in any topic or assignment while being part of an online global learning community.

Prior to departure, you will select your preferred courses and take a language placement exam. If you choose to take a Spanish language or elective course at our partner institution, you will take another language placement exam on-site. Your final language level may be adjusted on-site. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure due to course availabilities. To ensure that you receive credit for the language level you place into, have your home school pre-approve courses at several levels before you leave for Spain. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

Córdoba

Explore the colorful fusion of cultures and long, rich history of Córdoba. Once one of Europe’s most important capitals, the city has long been a melting pot of cultural influences where Muslims, Christians, and Jews co-existed peacefully. This small Andalusian city is full of iconic monuments, like the Mezquita, the Great Mosque of Córdoba, and the old Jewish quarter, home to the 1315 synagogue (one of only three left in Spain.) Córdoba has produced many influential philosophers, scientists, and artists, as well as a lively tradition of flamenco dancing.
